Well said KDG. I think all forms of wanting/desire/depression can manifest into something SO BIG, even though, like you said, they are a small part of our being.

How are YOU feeling lady?!? Has the pg been good to you so far? Hope so!

As always - great post Kristen!  This is our safe place to "say" the things we probably can't or aren't saying to anyone else.  Thanks!

Very excellently put Agree.  You know another good metaphor?  Maybe our GD is like an infected boil on our butts.  Most of the world doesn't see it because it's on our butts and covered up by clothes, maybe our DHs see it because they see us naked.  It's tiny on some of us, bigger on others, and some people have more painful infected boils than others, but they all hurt and they're all ugly.  The GD forum makes the picture of our infected boil like a profile picture, when it's really such a tiny, hidden part of who we really are.

Not trying to steal your thunder!  Just don't want to miss an opportunity to share my lovely mental butt infection images with the world!

You are SUCH a writer...when are we going to collaborate on a book together?  I just had major tummy tuck surgery and am down and out for the count and that's why I've been missing from the board but plan on coming back.  And yes, the tummy tuck surgery is all from the twin pregnancy that was supposed to be boy/girl twins but were boy/boy....so in addition to GD, I had an "after pouch" of skin that made me a member of the kangaroo species!   But it's gone now...woohoo!!

I'll be back here soon enough though...

There are enough people in the world already who are eager to criticize and judge us for feelings that we never asked for. If you feel that you cannot be supportive of someone, if it goes against your morals to do so, no one is asking that you be.  Simply say nothing and move on, there are plenty of people in need of support.
Well said!

I've had negative comments for being honest, it bothered me at first but not now. I realise it's because those posters havn't felt like that so they panic, freak out. I can relate to all extreme GD posts so they don't frighten/offend me but it is really helpful to have those posts so that people who do feel the same know they arn't the only ones [despite what their 'healthcare professionals' may have told themMad Furious] and that there is help/hope.

I'm always surprised when posters get attacked for being honest as I thought that was the point; this is a GD forum not a Everything's Peachy forum? There are plenty of 'normal' forums for parents but this is the only 1 for people who don't feel anything like 'normal', the only 1 I can relate to. I would've been lost/still suicidal without this site to vent on, learn & get hope from.

This is a very good post, none of us deserves negative feedback for being honest, especially in a forum designed for expressing our deepest feelings. I do believe though that we need to realise that in only exposing a very small portion of ourselves we also need to realise that if people react in a caring and obviously concerned manner, that is sometimes perceived as a bit OTT, that is because they do not know our whole, true selves and often they are only trying to help the best way they know. It does not mean that they are trying to be mean spirited, it is just a different response or reaction than we would have given or maybe expected. As different and unique we all are we all have our own ideas on what "words of wisdom" will help someone else. That is just my thought though..lol
