Thoughts on the name Delaina?

So our little pea pod is going to be a girl and we have picked the name Delaina Kate.  We have received mixed feedback from it so I wanted some outside opinions!  I like names that are not too common but not too out there either.  The name should go with our other daughter's name - Maren.  The middle name is not set in stone, but we couldn't think of anything better.  Please give your thoughts - we woudn't want her to be teased.  thanks!

I really, really, really love the name Delaney, but dh wouldn't go for it, so I (of course) love the variation of it that you've chosen!  I think it's a beautiful name!

Love the name Maren Happy Wink.  I am not sure about Delaina.  Would you call her Lainey?  I think that is cute, but trendy right now.  I like Delaney. Are there other names that you are considering?

We might call her Layna.  We have though of spelling it Delayna too, but not sure if it looks better.  We have other names, but can't seem to agree on one.  I like Charlotte and Amelia (although getting popular), and he doesn't care for them too much.  He likes Brenna, Jacelynn or something, and Brielle.  We can't seem to agree on anything else.

I really like Brenna!  I think it sounds nice with Maren, too.  Joslyn is another name I like but I could never use it because when I say it aloud with ds1's name it sounds too similar.

I also LOVE Delaney, but when I was pregnant with my son, my sil named her daughter Laney, so I didn't use it for my next daughter-too similar, I like Delaina, I don't care for the spelling Delayna, just my issue, but I have a problem with names within names (delay), and I think Laina would be a really cute nickname, I think Kate is perfect for a middle name, very simple to go with the first name which is kind of elegant I think-so, perfect combination!

I like Delaina too.  YOu could call her Laina or Lainie.  I prefer Delaina to Delayna, I think it just looks better when written.  We are most likely naming one of our twins Laine.

I prefer either Delaney, or just Laina - I think Delaina is kind of like 'gilding the lily', meaning it's beautiful but just a little too fanciful for my taste.  Especially when paired with Maren, which I think is an incredibly cool and perfectly simple name.  Laina and Maren are much more well-suited to each other IMHO.  I don't see any teasing issues arising from naming her Delaina though, it fits right in with all the current names.

We will probably stick to Delaina, but I also thought about the name Larissa.  I like Marissa, but we can't do anymore M names because there are SOOO many in our family.  Larissa means "cheerful" in Greek.  Anyway, Maren and Delaina or Maren and Larissa?  Just want to be sure!

Personally don't care for it. Sounds old-fashioned. I think people would call her Del, too, which is my great-grandma. Super old fashioned.

I think Delaina is nice--actually like it better than Delaney.  I really like Melaina, which is similar (but couldn't sell DH on that one, lol).
