Consumer Genetics TMPOB Wrong!

I purchased the tell me pink or blue test from consumer genetics based out of California. I tested at 10 weeks when my husband was out of town, so it was just my daughter and I home. Results came back GIRL... I had read online that these tests have been wrong so I was still hoping, however I was so nervous when I went for the gender scan yesterday, my heart was racin and my blood pressure was sky high bc I want a baby boy so bad and I thought for sure the tech would say girl... I'm 18 weeks pregnant and it's a BOY!!! The tech got 3 or 4 good shots of his private parts and said 100% BOY! Please don't waste your money on these tests... They're not always accurate and can get your hopes up for no reason! I'm fine now and my husband and I feel very blessed to have our baby boy on the way! Hello, I do that test TMPOB if I was 11 weeks pregnant. I have 2 boys, the result came: BABY BOY. Now I hoping and dreaming for wrong result?! 2011 I do TMPOB and it was wright result for Baby Boy. Greetings

There have been several women on here who got wrong boy results from similar tests. I think with a girl answer it can be wrong bc it could take longer for the boy chromosome to show up. I have heard several people say their boy result was wrong and it may have something to do with contamination. Or this whole thing could be a total scam... The ones they did studies on took more blood in a lab setting and immediately processed the results. With these tests they are taking a small amount of blood and then it is being mailed to the company. Sooo much can happen in that amount of time. I wouldn't give up hope on getting your little girl!!!

Bama-- what week were tests run in the lab?  I did TMPOB and my tests were run the week of March 4th.  They told me the lab had issues and all the tests ran in the batch "failed" which meant lab error.  They retested by samples.  I called and asked when I would receive my email results and they said they had been sent but I didn't receive them and she could see in the system that they didn't go out although they were supposed to.  She then put me and hold and said she was going to talk to the lab.  She came right back and said the just emailed the results.  I got a Boy result.  I am wondering if it is wrong.  Interesting, I have my NT ultrasound next week so I am hoping the tech can tell me the gender. 

My test was ran at the end of January. Everything went through fine and they emailed me the result when they said they would. I still need to request my refund but I know it will take forever and they require a live birth certificate so now I will probably have to wait until he is born. They have a 50/50 chance of getting it right and I think they are just making a bunch of money off women like us who really want to know early.

Good thread.... Mine was WRONG WRONG WRONG, I did the test at 11 weeks and was told boy in December last year, I've since had 3 scans and all have said GIRL... don't waste your money on that test, it is 50/50 and I will be chasing my money back once she arrives!

mine was wrong too during second pregnancy. They confirmed BOY however I had GIRL!!

i did the test, too! it was wrong! they said boy, but my doc is 95% sure it's a girl. consumer genetics do not answer my mails- wrote them, i want my money back :7

I am hoping mine is wrong also. I find out in a couple of weeks. MaBoy and Charitine-- when did you all have your tests run? My test were run the first week in March. Now I wish I hadn't done TMPOB!

 

Turns out my TMPOB was indeed wrong!  Tech was 100% sure it was a Girl at 15 week scan.  I am so thankful for a healthy baby girl!

They were also wrong with me. TMPOB told me I was having a girl back in March 2013. My 16th week ultrasound today confirmed 100% boy. I feel like an idiot... whats worse is that I feel like I lost a baby. And now I am getting used to having another one...

I did the test at 10 weeks and had the result said girl. It was right for me, confirmed by U S two days ago. Instead of squeezing my fingers I has some blood directly out of my veins, helped by my husband who is a nurse. I was extremely careful in avoiding contamination and he got the blood out without even touching my arm. I made sure to fill all the circles with many big drops. Then I stressed because US customs opened my envelope and it took almost 15 days for the lab for receiving my samples. I was actually worried that customs could have touch them. I often think I am just in the 50 per cent of right results because I read about all the wrong results which made me thinking TMPOB is just a scam.
