I had accepted that we were having baby boy #3, named him and started making new items for him and got his nursery mostly done.
Then I had my appointment on wednesday.
Some back story:
my 20w u/s - doctor thought it might be a boy, but what he showed us didn't look very convincing. Then we had a 24w follow up u/s, and we double checked, he took a look between the legs and we saw a ^ shaped thing between the legs, I was fairly convinced, but it didn't look anything like the boy bits we had seen with out other boys. But we decided it was a boy and let go of our hopes to have a daughter.
FF to wednesday this week, I had a follow up u/s at 28 weeks, and he asked me if we knew what it was, and I told him he thought it was a boy last time, and then he showed us between the legs and I couldn't see anything, no boy bits, no girl bits. When I told him it had better be a boy because we had already decorated he said well I wouldn't have decorated yet and then said hopefully a girl will like frogs.
DH said that the impression he got was that this doctor is always this vague - probably due to the age of the u/s machine, it is probably 15 years old or more. The pictures are horribly fuzzy. He gave us one picture and honestly I couldn't tell you what it is of, he says it is the baby's face. It looks nothing like a face.
So now here I sit, with my hopes up that I may get my girl after all, but kind of irritated because I was looking forward to my baby boy.
