I also updated on another thread, but I'm 4dp5dt and 11 days past trigger and still getting a faint second line. It certainly gives me hope, but I don't fully trust that its a true BFP quite yet. Wishfulthining - we had 4 healthy girls and 2 boys, the rest appeared to have abnormalities. Seeing how many more girls we had than boys, really confirmed our decision to take this long road in the first place. The 4 girls were our best embies and the RE raved about how beautiful our "girls" were. Of course we already know we make beautiful girls :) But the boys looked pretty good too, she showed us a picture of one and it was a hatching blastocyst. After this I really question if we would ever be able to get pregnant on our own with a boy though.

Girl I'm glad everything went well with your procedure I am super excited 4u and can't wait for your final result :) on another note I am thinking I will not b doing my ivf /microsort in Mexico anymore. After doing extended research I know now that my husband and me will spend less or about the same amount of $ if we did it here in the US. My insurance pays 50% of the procedure and 80% on labs, ultrasounds, Dr. visits etc. and my medications are paid@ 80% as well. So we have decided to go thru HRC in Encino,CA. after reading reviews online they were the best rated facility. I'm glad I did my research b/c I know they have a few facilities and I was thinking all along all of them would b the same since they are all HRC but boy was I wrong! Dr. Potter has horrible reviews and so does the Laguna Hills location. Anyhow just wanted to share my update and the reason I never looked into all this b4 is b/c I always read online ivf and pgd costing ppl over 20k and so the #'s scared me away and decided to go the cheaper way out of the US. But thankfully I came across this site and learned that ivf runs less than 7k and pgd runs bout 4k which is not bad at all an I kno meds are not included in that but its still better #'s than 20k. I much prefer going here to the US than Mexico. Does anyone know if HRC gives any discount if paying all cash? I forgot to ask. Thanks again ladies!

@Classywife12

We went thru similar reasoning/justification of not doing MS/IVF in Mexico. At the end of the day it was similar in cost and expenses than just staying home and cycling.....HOWEVER,.... our first cycle we had ZERO normal girls to transfer! I was absolutely crushed and devestated. I know if we did MS then at least I would have had some females in the mix.  This is a risk you take when just doing the IVF/PGD.

I think there is a reason some people have several of one gender in a row.  I don't care that the Dr's say 50:50 when he was giving us just a dumb look and couldn't explain how I didn't have any females out of so many eggs.   Our second attempt with a different clinic we added Ericcson and this time at least we had 1 normal female, 1 abnormal female and the rest all boys.

NO TRANSFER happens in 25% of IVF/PGD cycles so that's 1 in 4 chance.  You need to be prepared to do more than one attempt.

eta: I agree that Dr Potter has very bad reviews. Its good you pick another RE.

The second line is definitely getting darker now!! And the BFP is showing up on the blue die tests as well, which it wasn't before. Can't wait for my BETA on Tuesday, but I probably won't breath a true sigh of relief until our first ultrasound. For now, I'm cautiously VERY excited!!!!

Wishfulthinking - So far so good, thank you for asking! Betas came back today (10dp 5dt) at 147. It was a little lower than I was hoping for, but the nurse said it was a good number. From what I've read, it is in the normal range for a singleton. I'm still POAS every morning and the lines continue to get darker, in fact, the test line started showing up before the control line a couple of days ago! I am also feeling super tired and my breasts are getting a bit sore as well. I've never been so grateful for pregnancy symptoms before! I go back Thursday for another Beta, so I'll be sure to update then.

That is awesome! Congrats on being pregnant with (at least one) baby boy! :-) My husband and I have decided we would only put in one embryo (freezing another should we be fortunate to have that many by that point). I'm so nervous it won't work out if we only put back one. Obviously getting ahead of myself already. I expect I'll start my injections within the next two weeks!!! I'm so excited for your first ultrasound! You must be over the moon!

WishingforXY - How did the 3rd beta go? How are you feeling? Are you still doing the progesterone shots?

Thanks, Wishfulthinking! My 3rd beta went well. They wanted to see something close to 3000 and it actually went up to 6,400! So that was great news. Due to the holiday weekend my ultrasound got pushed back to next Friday...booo!!! So I'll be nearly 8 weeks by then, the wait it really tough but as long as everything looks good, I won't complain! And pg symptoms are still coming on strong, sore breasts and LOTS of nausea thoughout the day, which I honestly never thought I would be grateful for, ha!

Not necessarily. The nurse I spoke to said it's just too hard to tell with betas alone, sometimes the really high numbers turn out to be singletons and the people with low numbers end up with twins, so it's a toss up. I think I'm having more nausea and it definitely started earlier than with my previous pregnancies, but I still feel like there is one baby in there. One or two, we will be thrilled!

Just got back from our first ultrasound with GREAT news! ONE perfect looking baby with a very strong heartbeat (157 bpm!) and measuring exactly on track at 7w4d! We are beyond relieved. That little heart beat was visible right away and it was such a beautiful sight! Since we are nearly 8 weeks and all looks well, we graduate from the RE's office and will head to our regular OB from here on out :)
