Last ER had 27 eggs retrieved (most ever) I did fine with Gatorade and salty foods!

Are you doing a day 3 or day 5 biopsy? How many probes or GSN? Best of luck!!

Jany1025 - Wow, 27 eggs!! That's amazing! Did you experience any OHSS or boating/pain after your retrieval? If so, how long did it last? I'm not sure if I'm just experiencing normal post retrieval symptoms or if I'm having minor OHSS. I have a lot of pain along my diaphragm (like running cramps sort of) and can't walk for too long, cough, etc... without pain. We are doing a 3 probe biopsy on day 3 and transfer at 5 days.

Good luck with everything!!! I am in exacty the same boat as you. Well really wanting a boy, and would love twin boys :D I started my first round of Clomid. We've never had any issues concieving until now. We are both in our thirties, and I would like to get preggers rigt away, just to avoid having more issues with time. We are not going to IVF or IUI route but we are going the diet/ph/might attempt Tamara's technique to get our boy. Keep updating, I'd love to know how things go for you!

Honestly I think my body is so used to all this IVF, for this last retrieval three weeks ago with the 27 eggs, when I woke up I layed there for about 10 minutes, ripped off the blood pressure cuff got dressed and walked out ( the girls at the front desk were in shock) then we went to eat some pizza- nothing like NYC pizza! No pain or bloating, but your pain will ease up.

I plan to cycle in nov or dec. I am praying and hoping the 1st time works but all I could do is just that hope and pray! If it doesn't work I might try a 2nd time if the experience or pain isn't too bad. And u have very good reasons on why u didn't go cycle elsewhere. I saw your new post and I am very happy 4u! It looks like all is going your way and I hope u get your baby boy soon! :) I'm sure u will! just keep faith. Well I haven't looked@ plane tickets yet but I'm estimating we will spend about 9k all together including meds, procedure, travel and hotel. I think I am planing on starting stimulation meds here where I live and just go over there to do the transfer and procedure part. Dr. said I could do that so that so i i don't have to be over there more than 1 wk. I also think it's a good idea b/c I have really good prescription coverage and my medications would save me more money if I got them Here. For example he told me one of the meds was about $760 there and here I would get it for $150. I'm excited but also super nervous and scared. So you pay for everything out of pocket? I'm still confused about the whole procedure and steps so I'm asking the dr. Lots of questions. So what exactly happens to all those eggs if they are good and you have female ones left over? How many are u putting in?

By the way I had no idea there was a place in Cali that low in price! That is very goo for that procedure Ru sure that's right tho? Only reason I ask is if it is infact true I might look into that place now b/c my insurance covers half of the price of the procedure and I would pay the other half and so I would b pretty much set. B/c l have pretty good medication coverage too. Only reason I looked elsewhere is b/c of the high cost here in the US I havent seen less than 20k for that procedure. Have u had the procedure done before? Sry I don't remember if you had or not.. Thanks for writting to me it's nice that someone did so I didn't feel like I'm talking to myself lol hope to hear back again :)

I just finished my cycle with HRC in Oceanside. Unfortunately, we didn't have a normal embryo in my bunch... but my bunch was small. The cost of the IVF cycle was $4900. This included ICSI (if needed) and assisted hatching. BUT... you have to put a San Diego County address on your paperwork to get the discount. Otherwise it's $6900. I never got anything in the mail, so you may be able to figure something out! And then the cost of the full PGD report was $4100. I'm not sure if they offer a 2 probe, or a 5 probe for less money... I'm looking into this for my next cycle. And of course the meds aren't included... but it sounds like they wouldn't be in Mexico either. So in total it was $9,000 for my cycle, plus meds. The doctor is great! I plan on going back. But you do have me interested in Microsort... just because of the better possibility of my few little embryos being girls. Let me know where the meds would come from, I may be interested! Good luck and keep me posted!

I heard from my RE's office and I am ECSTATIC to report that all 15 eggs were mature and 14 of the 15 fertilized! So hopefully our 14 embies continue to stay strong and grow and make it to PGD testing on Wednesday. And of course that some of them are boys :) We are scheduled go in Saturday morning for transfer. If we don't have any healthy males to transfer, they will call us beforehand to let us know. Really REALLY hoping we don't hear from them until we go in on Saturday!

CONGRATS!!! This is wonderful news. It sounds like you will definitely have a shot at your little boy! Will you transfer 1 or 2? If we had 2 normals I was going to transfer two, but thats because if we didn't get pregnant we had to wait a long time to try again. I just wanted to increase my odds since I was such a poor responder with low reserves. And you are lucky they will call you! I had to drive all the way to my RE's office, only to break down in tears in front of him when he gave us the results. It was awful. [:'(]

Can't wait to hear more good news come Saturday!! PrayBaby Boy

If we have 2 healthy males we will definitely put both in. If we are lucky enough to have any additional healthy embryos, male or female, we will freeze them. If the first transfer doesn't take, we would do a FET. But I'm getting ahead of myself, for now we just hope to at least have something to transfer on Saturday!

Classywife12, We are also going to Guadalajara, but through the fertility institutes out of LA. The prices for procedures are much cheaper. Do you know when you would start your cycle? Has anyone else gone through the fertility institute?

Hi ladies.. Been kinda low key and really searching for a solution. I am so very happy for you wishing! It sounds a little traumatic for the ER but I'm glad all seems better now. I cannot wait to hear how the rest of your journey goes. It's nice to see some new names. We can't ever have too much support. Welcome to you all. We haven't looked into treatment in Mexico because DH is a GIANT baby and scared to go. I may have to twist his arm a little, but it might be difficult with our 4 kids to get there. I would thankful for any info you would like to share though :) I really never imagined that this would be so difficult. I thought that since it was such an easy choice for me to be a traditional surrogate and always being a pretty good person there might be some rewards for me somewhere. I have never asked or expected them, and repayment or rewards are not my motivation for caring for others, but I'm feeling a little slighted atm.

JustOne - Don't give up up hope yet. I'd like to think that this is just a bump in the road on your journey and that everything happens for a reason, it's just hard to see that at this current stage. There have been many times in my life when I have been disappointed and sad and just couldn't understand "Why me?!" And then after a while, sometimes days, sometimes years, I was able to look back and think, aaah, THIS is why! And life is so much better despite, or even because, of the situation that I was so upset about before. Does that makes sense? Try to stay positive and keep researching. Hopefully an answer to your dreams will present itself soon.

I just got a call from my RE's office and my stomach was in KNOTS when I saw the number! But she was just calling to check in and see how I was feeling after my retrieval. Phew! She also let me know that 13 of our embies were biopsied and sent to the lab today! We may get a call tomorrow with the results if they come in in time, otherwise she said we would get them Saturday morning. I'm FINALLY starting to feel better since the retrieval. Up until I went to bed last night my abdomen was still super bloated and I was in a lot of pain. It has been really difficult for me to care for my children while being so terribly uncomfortable. I slept in a reclining chair last night and it's the most comfortable sleep I've had since Monday. I also got some Dandelion tea and that seems to have helped as well. I think I had/have mild OHSS, but I'm very happy to be feeling better now, especially before the transfer Saturday. In other news, I started taking the PIO shots and GOOD GRIEF is my rear end sore! The shot itself isn't that bad, but the next day you feel like you did a thousand lunges the day before! I've heard that if you vigorously massage the area afterwards for several minutes it can help, so I'm going to try that tonight.

Hi BlueBlue...Pink - I'm doing a cycle in MA. I was going to start this week but it's not going to work out because i have to travel for work right around the time when I would have my ET. So next month it is. I'm just glad that the progesterone and the rest of our meds will still be good next month (I just got everything last weekend and was surprised to find that the progesterone doesn't last long at all). So I'll call my doc with my next Day 1 and we'll take it from there. Have you started your meds yet? How is that going? Are you going to do the 3 or 5 chromosome test? I think we finally settled on the 3 given our ages aren't really old enough to warrant the 5 (so our doc says - my husband and I are 32 and 31, respectively). I still go back and forth on this decision (the 3 vs 5) daily. Good luck to everyone!!!!!!

Two amazing boys - Baby Boy '09 Baby Boy '10.  Hoping for some pink to complete our family in 2013!
