Low HCG levels and nothing on U/S??? Help! :(

So, Friday I had light bleeding/spotting all day after intercourse the night before. Seems to be done now and no cramping other than some very minor lower back discomfort... Didn't know I was PG until I took two test Friday and got BFPs! Went to ER about bleeding...said my HCG level was only 129 and said that was very low for the 4-5 weeks I estimate I am (almost positive about dates)... And V/US showed nothing :/ I'm pretty worried now but will be going back in a week to have levels rechecked and maybe another U/S. Anyone else experience something similar and had everything turn out fine???

I know how you are feeling. Please try to keep calm! With my first had low hcg levels + bleeding and he is now 10 yrs old. Now with my first , normal hcg levels but again bleeding. Had to wait 2 weeks to be able to see something on V/US. I am now almost 17 wks pregnant. Thinking of you!

Aw, thank you. Its really nice to hear encouraging and hopeful words, as I've been kind-of freaking out. :( the waiting around is the hardest part... Don't know how I'm going to get through this week! Is it possible to not see anything at 4-5 weeks? And does a level of 129 seem something to worry about?.... Or, is it more the second number that's important?

I cannot answer your questions for sure! However, even with a + HCG and bleeding (4 wks), my doctor refused to do an ultrasound. I think he wanted exactly to avoid your situation. I know it is very easy to tell the others to keep calm, but really try to "survive" next days with serenity. When are you going to mesure again your HCG levels? I think that the important thing is the rise. Please keep us posted. Will keep my fingers crossed!!! 

Yeah, I hear ya. I almost wish I hadn't gone Friday! But, at least we got the first level to compare the next one to. Although, I keep wondering why they did an ultrasound after seeing my level at only 129. Everything I have read seems to indicate you can't see anything until the level is 1000-2000. I wish they had waited on the u/s. I will to my best not to worry to much this week. Trying to stay positive! Will be going back next Sunday. I will definitely keep you posted!!

try not to worry too much. you are probably just super early and trust me not all of us have speedy gonzolas eggs. mine was only slightly higher then yours and i was 17-20dpo. im 32 weeks this week! most doctors won't even do an u/s that early as you usually can't or won't see anything until your hcg is over 1,000. so at 120's of course you won't be able to see anything. remember it sometimes takes eggs 12 or more days to even implant then you still have to wait for the hcg to build up enough to be readable. good luck

Thanks ladies!!! I am trying not to worry too much... Being cautiously optimistic I suppose. But, I really DO feel pregnant.... The way my body is behaving- from the increased lethargy, moodiness, food cravings, etc... I just hope my intuition is right. I am at least hopeful that even though the U/S didn't show anything, it also didn't show anything anywhere else either (tubes,ovaries). Thanks for the posts though ladies, definitely helped to lift my spirits. 6 more days of waiting.... Oy!!!

Hi lovelife I am in a similar situation at the moment. I had some pain and pink blood so I went to ER to be checked I was 5w 5d I had my HCG levels checked they weren't bad at all approx 15,600 so I thought oh not to bad so went for a vaginal U/S and all they tech could see was the sac. I am seriously panicking. I go back for another us on a week today I am so scared. Xxx

Hey Hannah! Hmmm... From everything I've read- 5w5d would be pretty early to see something.... But 15,600 seems pretty high to not see anything... Although, they did see the sac, so that's a very good sign! Maybe your numbers are so high because it's TWINS??? :) We should both not panic until we get our follow-ups. I'll keep you posted on mine- and you keep me posted on yours!!

PS: I really don't think you should worry about seeing only the sac at under 6 weeks! I'm hoping we'll see the sac at my next visit!!! :)

I'm going back Sunday morning. They'll do an HCG count first and if that number has increased appropriately, then another U/S. If it hasn't or has decreased then I'm assuming m/c. I really don't think I have though... Definitely feeling pregnant! And I know what you mean... As optimistic as I feel, I can't help but worry! But, like my hubby keeps telling me- stress and worry is probably not good for the baby! :/

Your hubby is so right, everyone's said the same to me and I'm trying not to but I am a bit of a worrier anyway lol. Please let me know how you get on on Sunday I am sure if you have pregnancy symptoms then it will be good news. Good luck xxx
