Anyone currently doing an IVF/PGD cycle or Starting one in May?

How exciting, now the wait to find out!! I had only the mature eggs fertilize last time and we used ICSI then and will be again this time (Hubby had a vasectomy in 2002 so he also had to have TESE so we are using frozen.)

I saw only the second episode of the 60 mins show, I think for some people it is that easy! Hopefully it will  be for you! Im in for ET in 12 hours so having a relaxing night, early bed time for me!

Will let you know how I go tomorrow...Enjoy your next couple of days, the 5 day wait is almost as bad as the 2ww!!

Scary isn't it when you look at all that can go wrong with the embies, if it were just straight IVF without the PGD we would never know..Are these age related for you? I know with my downs embryo they said it came from my egg and not hubby's sperm..I am 37...How fortunate we are to be able to do this whole process as tough as it all seems! Thanks for your wishes, will let you know how many tomorrow - My guess is 10!! Wishing you all the best for tomorrow also shoegal, sounds like you will have a good number of eggs so hopefully they are all pink and perfect! X

Shoegal - You are correct . . . ICSI is where they inject the sperm into the egg.  Out of the 10 mature eggs that I had - 9 of them fertilized. 

I am so nervous!  I think the 5 day wait is worse then the 2ww because you have no control over your embies.  At least in the 2ww, you know that they are tucked in safe in your womb.  And you feel like your in a little more control because you can rest and feel like you are taking care of them.

Hi Girls Had my ER this morning - 16 retrieved, 12 mature and 4 they were hopeful would mature in the dish over the next few hours..I cant remember the name they used. Will find out tomorrow morning how many fertilized, feeling very positive for a few great quality pink ones for us all!! Quiet day today even though I am feeling really good (did hit the shops for a stint on our way back) we check out on Sunday so will travel to San Fran for a few days until the transfer, try to keep busy!! Luckie6 & Shoegal those are great numbers!  I didnt find out until the next day how many were mature so Shoegal I am sure that you will find out by tomorrow hom many are mature.

Well, ladies it loos like we are well on our way!  I am xcited for all of us!  I hope that we all be BFP's this cycle and in 9 months we will all be having babies together.

I dont have any new news.  I should find out tomorrow how many continued to develop and how the PGD biopsy goes.  Then I will find out probably Sunday how many little girls I've got.  I can't wait!

Oh how wine sounds so good right now!  It's too bad that my hubby had to go bak to Oz today because I would love that wine!  My 2 boys are still here with me so I would be nervous drinking even 1 glass.  I haven't had any in so long that I would probably get a really really good buzz off one glass.  LOL

Ladies have that wine while you still can!  In a couple of weeks you may find out that you have to wait another 8-9 months before you can have it again!  How exciting . . . .

Soready thats too bad that hubby had to go home, at least he was here for his part tho!! How long do you have before you go home after transfer? How will you manage the bed rest afterwards if you are on your own with the boys?

Luckie6 & Shoegal - Those are great numbers! Things are looking good for us this cycle.  So remind me, how many fertilized eggs did each of yall have at this point in yalls previous cycles?

I got an update today and all 9 of my embies are dividing at a normal rate and all of them are scheduled for biopsy this evening.  The results of the PGD will be in on Monday morninI am scheduled to go in for the ET on Monday at 11:30am.  Luckie6 I know that you wre wondring how I am going to do bed rest and I dont think that it will be too hard with the kids.  I am staying in a condo so I will make sure that I stock up on food, snacks and drink on Sunday.  Then Monday & Tuesday we will just hang out here.  The kids can run around, play with toys, and of course I always have cartoons to fall back on if needed.  We are planning on staying in HI until Saturday or Sunday of next week.  It will just depend on how I am feeling.  If needed I am prepared to wait an extra week so that I can take a pregnancy test before I leave. 

 I would love to get a BFP before I leave so that I can go shopping for baby clothes.  The clothes here are so cute and they are so much cheaper!!!  I have had to hold myself back several times . . . the baby clothes keep calling my name.  They say please take me home . . .   LOL  It doesn't help that Macy's is having a sale right now and there are all these cute dresses from like $4.99.  I know that it is a little soon but I think that I am going to take a pregnancy test on Friday & Saturday morning.  I plan on transfering 2 embies (if I get 2 girls) and if I get pregnant with TWINs then there is a good chance that I will know by then.  My last pregnancy was a twin pregnancy but I lost one of them at 14 weeks.  The other baby was just fine and had a normal healthy pregnancy.  But anyways . . . I took a hpt at 11dpo and it was positive.  Sunday the 28th will be aprox. 11dpo so who knows if it will work.  I know realisticly that I should wait until like June 2nd but I am going to be too excited to wait.

Hi there, congratulations Shoegal! Great news and also to you SoReady, youre nearlly there! I hope the kids are good for you so you do relax..its hard to do as you dont feel tired or sore, I found it really difficult to 'rest'!

Its great that they are giving you all these updates, I find out how many fertilized and then dont hear anything until ET..

My previous cycle I had 8 embryos fertilize, 2 no DNA, 1 downs XY, 1 A XX, 2 C XY I think there was 1 D XX and I cant remember the other one, maybe no DNA too..I started HPT (POAS) 4dp5dt and got a faint BFP 6dp5dt, when I had my blood test at 10dpt it was 25, which was too low and went down to <5 14dp5dt..I was then told to stop all meds and got AF 4 days later..

Its so hard to wait to test!! I probably wont wait either..We leave for home on 29th so I may test that day and then schedule a blood test for the day I get back which works out Thursday 31st at home..

I know what you mean about the clothes! I went crazy last time we were here!! There is a gorgeous cot set I want here and Im tempted to just buy it, I have way too much stuff already tho!!

Hi SoReady - it has been fascinating reading your posts.  I am also living in Australia and very keen on PGD to have a little girl.  Which Dr are you using in Australia - he/she sounds fabulous.  Also which clinic did you decide to try in Hawaii?  It is hard with all the choices.  Would love any tips on how to get started.  I have been charting my cycles for 5 months now.

Jacknjill - I live near Canberra.   I started this process by going to my GP and asking them to put  me on Birth Control pills (it needs t be a monophasic pill).  And I also asked my GP to give me a referral to the fertility doctor.   Do you have any fertility issues?  If not, you may have to tell a little white lie or two.  I know that some GP's wont give you a refferal just because you ask for it so I did what I had to in order to get my refferal.  I told the GP that I had irregular cycles (true), that we had been trying for baby #3 for over a year (false), and that we have not used any form of protetio for the last 16 months (kinda true).  These things gave me a reason to have a consultation with the fertility doctor.  When she asked me why I wanted the birth control pills, I told her that I wanted them to help regulate my cycle while I waited to for an appointment with the fertility doctor.
