results from beta HCG from NT scan blood draw tells GENDER

Not totally true although your HCG does indicate girl your Papp-A indicates boy.... I have been seeing a pattern that when the Papp-A is extremely high or extremely low (not within normal ranges)  it is indicated boy. Do you know what your Inhibin A was or your AFP?

I am also a firm believer in more then one number has to match

Hi! My beta hcg levels are 1.7 and I have been really sick during this pregnancy, would this be why?

Both of my boys' levels were under 1 and I didn't have any sickness with them.

Just trying to see if there is a link between beta hcg and sickness aswell!

22 weeks and still have all day sickness, not fun!!!

Your Hcg indicates but do you know your other numbers?

Papp-A MoM

Inhibin-A MoM

AFP- Mom

Also I have no idea if there is a link between MS and HCG but I will definitely look it up!

Finally! With 10 days to my gender scan I have the results!
NT measurement : 1.0 mm ; 0.85 MoM
PAPP-A level : 1110 ng/mL ; 1.24 MoM
Total hCG (1T) level : 42.7 iu/mL ; 0.65 MoM
What do you think?

Did you have a Nub Shot? If so what did everyone guess? Also what about placental position did you have AL read that in the Ramzi thread?

I already have 2 boys, I am really hoping for a girl. We will see! As far as the placenta goes, al is confused by mine but I think her final assessment was girl. If you go back about 2 pages from the most current you can see. When I went for my NT scan at 13 weeks, my tech was so great and wanted to get a nub shot for me. The baby was not too cooperative. I thought at one point I saw a flat, tiny nub but then the baby flipped. It could have been wishful thinking! The tech looked between the legs and said she didn't see anything but it was still early. She thought it was a good sign she didn't see a penis starting but there were not 3 lines either. I am going nuts.

Then I would rely more on the placenta and nub anything can throw your blood work off. I am a firm believer in the 2nd Trimester Quad results anyway. I hate to guess based on the NT alone I like to combine for accuracy. GL I hope you get you long awaited daughter ! I am keeping my FX for you! Wishing you pink  make sure you came back and update!

Thank you so very much! I will certainly come back and update, even if I don't get my desired gender! Ha ha. Lately I am thinking I will probably have another boy, only because I want a girl so much! We were done after our first two, but conceived this baby with an IUD. Miracle child!

 

Any insight into the Beta hcg level and morning sickness any one?

I have read that hcg is what makes you feel sick. and many people swear that they feel more sickness with girls, and if hcg is higher in girls then it makes sense. My ms always seems to last longer with girls. I stop feeling sick around 11 weeks with boys and 13 weeks with girls.

I thought I had responded to this thread, but the monkeys must have ate it! Anyway, it was a GIRL! Thanks for guessing!

 Ok I am confused! In one of the first posts it says this so really I had 2 matching numbers both of which were very high.  So it was wrong for me. Feel free to add me to the list!

 Papp-A (First Trimester) higher in female and (First Trimester)  lower in male fetuses

Free b-hCG is higher in female pregnancies; median of 1.09 Mom for a female fetus compared to 0.79 MoM for a male fetus.

 

It seesm to be those it was correct for, are those who had 2 or more MoM's in the range so 2 lows for a boy and 2 highs for a girl.

 

I just stumbled upon this thread & wanted to include my info. I had the "first trimester"/ NT screen with my DD at 13.5 weeks. Free Beta HCG (MOM) - 2.28 PAPP-A Mom - .42 Delta NT - +.37 I think.. your theory would say girl, right? I'm currently 12.5 weeks pregnant and awaiting the results from this pregnancy screen. I'll add the numbers as soon as I get them b/c I'm dying to know the sex. At the NT scan the nub appeared to be a girl, but the tech did say it was a little confusing. ??
