So done with it!

So I come from an all girls family. Yesterday I was outside and I saw my neighbour I rarely run into because of her work hours and she said "do you know what the gender is yet?" and I said "yup! shes a girl" with a big smile and she said "oh how lovely!!!!" and then her face dropped and she said "oh wait, eek... I bet you're mom was hoping for a boy... oh well you cant always win" ugh. I politely said "oh... no... my mom just wanted a healthy lovable grandchild" and walked away. I am so sick of people saying that because my parents had GGG I have to have 'that boy' to 'fix' the gap. Karl's parents had BBB so as far as Im concerned, Im doing great. Said neighbour has 4 boys too. Shame, her boys are older (20s and 30s) so I bet when they start having kiddos she will be 'hoping for a girl' instead of a healthy new addition.

It was very rude of your neighbor to say what she did, but try to have a little bit of compassion for her.  She probably wasn't trying to be rude.  It sounds like she has some pretty bad GD going on herself!  I'm positive of it.  I'm sure it just her own GD rearing its ugly head.  She shouldn't have projected that onto you, though.  You can take comfort in the fact that she's probably jealous of you!

its just strange because she knows I come from a one gendered family, same with my boyfriend (obviously differing genders) she is a lot older, as I said her youngest is probably in his late 20s but oh well. I've cooled down now. I am just sick of people making it out as though I have let my parents down.

I'm not suprised she said that, it's so typical. My mom has no GD ,she had the perfect pigeon pair. SHe even says it.

My friend is pregnant and her parents had all girls. My mom says "Oh, I bet her mother will never forgive her if she doesn't have that boy"

I know my friend feels the presure too. I feel bad for her. GD sucks as it is but pile on pleasing other people and it is overwhelming.

People need to just keep the pie hole shut.
