LuvMyEvan:
I had my 20 week ultrasound this morning. My baby girl is still a girl and growing well. She weighs about 13 oz and everything looks great! The doctor said my placenta is a little low and is close to my cervix. She said it is not over my cervix but is close so she wants to do another ultrasound at 28 weeks to see if it has moved. Also wants to keep a check on the baby's growth due to my anemia. Hopefully everything will be fine although Im not totally opposed to a c-section if I have to have one. SO, please keep us in your prayers that things continue to go well and we have our healthy baby girl in our arms in March!! Here is her picture!!
She is beautiful!!! So what you have going on with your placenta is exactly what I had...placenta previa. Mine finally moved up last week. In only about 5% of cases is there an issue with needing a c-section because it blocks the cervix and usually this only happens when you are diagnosed with this later on in pg. When this happens early like it has for me and you it virtually always will move up since your uterus is still growing and it grows upward, moving the placenta upward as well. So, I would not worry yourself about it. And so you don't freak out, you may have a little spotting from it as this is what I had...
