worried about dh having GD if this is not a boy!

hi ladies... this seems like a really supportive board so i thought i would ask if any of you have been through this. I have a 12 yr old stepdaugher and 10 month old daughter. i am 3.5 months pg and praying that this one is a boy (i would love a boy, but i am praying for my husband!) he desperately wants a son after having 2 daughters. i really think this baby is a girl (i posted a 13 week u/s photos on the forums and got 99% girl guesses)...although i should note that the tech said she thought it was a boy at 12 wks 5 days. i do not want dh to come to the 20 week u/s with me because i know how upset he will be if they say "girl".....and i am trying to prepare myself and figure out a way to break the news to him if this is indeed a girl. has anyone gone through a husband having GD? how do you help them cope?

Oh yeah! Been there. My hubby and I both really wanted boy 2 to be a daughter. And hubby is quite keen to try for another baby in the hopes it is a girl. Men can go through GD just like women and I think that they need to grieve too if they are suffering from it.

My Dh really wanted a DD for our 4th baby infact he dreamt our ds4 was a girl and we didnt find out the gender of him til the birth so when he was born there was  moments when he would say things about wanting a girl but anyway he and I both fell instantly inlove with our ds4 hes the light of my husbands life infact my parents often comment on how much of a daddys boy he is hehe :)

I can assure you hun when your baby is born there may slight disapointment there if it is a girl but he will love her no matter what :)

 

Yep!  My DH was very upset at boy number 6.  He wanted to swap him for a girl :(  I pray you hear blue.

 My dh was quite sad/upset about ds's 4&5 were boys...he loves them like mad now but he wants a dd just as much as I do...
