Which bedding?
|
|
I'm probably not going to find out the gender this time around, and so am looking for a gender neutral bedding set. I found these and they're quite cute but can't decide which is best for both boy or girl! Your opinions would be very welcome!
Bedding #1

Bedding #2

Bedding #3

Bedding #4

I do like them all, I think 1 is the most gender neutral. Option 2 is lovely but I think it looks a little girly. x

we didn't even end up buying bedding for my son because they don't even use it in the crib. And the thought of just putting the bedding on the crib for show every day was not appealing to me! haha. So, I would say to save the money and just decorate the room itself.

Ditto. I picked #1. And I think #4 would be gorgeous for a little girl.

"If left alone in labor, the body of a woman produces most easily the baby that is not interfered with...If left alone, just courage and patience are required" -Grantly Dick-Read, MD "I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs" -Thomas Jefferson

I went with 1 but have you considered decorating after the baby?

I chose 4 because its so different....and I love toile BUT I just had a second glance at the 1/2 options and really love the soft chenille edges!! You'd do with any of those options I think...
I do agree w/ babydust too about bedding being a wee bit of a waste. lol. Course, I bought it with #1 and have gotten a new set for this lil one. Somehow it does seem like part of the whole 'preparing for baby thing' for me. I will say that my babes stay in the crib as long as possible (with the rails down once they can climb out) so eventually they were using the bedding. After a year, mine used the quilt. Ds2 is still attached to his quilt and it has moved with him into his big bed (though after 2ds it's pretty worn).

I chose #3, but I LOVE wild animal prints! If I were not going to find out the gender, I would probable do something like this.....

The if it turns out to be a girl, add pink to the browns or a boy, add in some blue!
PS ~ I think we found the same site for bedding ~ I LOVE this site! Good qaulity and a lot for the money. They also sell on ebay. You may be able to bid and win the bedding for much less! I did this for my friend and won the bedding set she wanted (9 piece set) for $34.00 (plus $19.99 for shipping)!
Anyway ~ GL

how crafty are you? these are all so simple to make, and you could pick your own colours. If I have to choose I would pick #1 though, the green is very cute!
I am doing the same thing as you next time, not finding out. One of my hurdles was "but I don't like any bedding, and I won't be able to find any clothing!" so I decided to make my own bedding & clothing. I have the nursery in the design stage, just waiting for the BFP to start sewing, but I'm going with a neutral beach theme, in white, seafoam, cream, coral, and for the walls a sandy beige.
you might want to look at ocean themes they have out there, there are a few that are neutral as well!

Thanks girls!
I think having had a heart to heart with DH, he really wants to find out. So I think we're going to find out but probably keep it a secret unless I can convince him otherwise! LOL
I love the site this bedding comes from too.... And it ships to the UK, which is fabby because we don't have anything quite so pretty over here! I originally found this site on Ebay and the prices are so reasonable I don't look anywhere much else now! LOL
If it's a girl I think we'll almost certainely go for bedding #3 as I just love it. If it's a boy I'm not sure!
I know it's a waste of money, but I have quite difficult and painful pregnancies and in the later weeks and sitting in a fully decorated nursery (even if it's just for show, as our babies sleep in with us for the first year!) is really comforting to me and calms me down. I bought bedding sets for both my DDs and my DD1 is actually now old enough to use it and loves, loves, loves the bedding. I couldn't afford this kind of thing when I had my boys, so I'm looking forward to buying a boy bedding set if I'm having a boy!
Unfortunately I am not crafty in any sense of the word - I can't even sew a button on if it pops off!
