We settled on names (thank goodness)

After a good 2 month discussion when it came to potential baby names, we have finally settled on a girl and boy name. We were told it's a boy, but here are both girl and boy names we chose incase they tell us different next time we have an u/s. We chose quite unusual names, but that was our intention because both our names are quite unique.

 Girl:  Amaya Jade

Boy: Atreyu Elijah

 Those are really unique, but awesome names. How'd you come up with them? It's interesting

Thank you, I appreciate your compliment. Most people usually think they're way too "out there", but that's just matter of opinion I guess.

 Amaya is a name both of us have liked for a good while, and the name Jade came from a show on Discovery Health where there were conjoined twins and they ended up making it. One of them was named Jade and she really was a fighter, and we both agreed that it's a beautiful name.

Atreyu is a name from The Neverending Story (you might have heard of the book/movie..it's old). My father used to read it to me when I was little, and the character Atreyu became my hero. As soon as I mentioned the name, daddy loved it, and Elijah is a bible name he really liked. We debated between Antonio for a middle name (since it's daddy's middle name), but he didn't like the sound of it. Those are the stories behind our choices of names.

I love the name Atreyu!!! I had the biggest crush on the boy who played him in the movie.

No way! Really? Wow, I thought I was the only girl to ever think Atreyu was adorable! The funny thing is that my baby will be "mixed" (I hate that term, but I don't know too many others that sound better..in other words, I'm white and dad is black), and Atreyu seemed to be as well. I just thought he was so handsome.

I thought I recognized the name Atreyu from The Neverending Story. I thought he was really cute too! When I was 16, my family spent a week in Germany, and we toured the film studio where that movie was made. We have a photo of me "flying" on the luck dragon with clouds racing by behind me!

Wow that's so awesome! I'm jealous!

I like both names!  The Neverending Story was one of my favorite movies growing up.  I have it on VHS and am waiting for my kids to show an interest in it, lol.
