Freaking out!

This is my first time posting on here but I am extremely relieved to have found this board. I currently have two daughters and when we found out the second was a girl I was slightly disappointed but it soon resolved. I am now 13.3wks with my third and terrified to find out if this one is a girl! After my nt scan at 12 weeks my mil asked if they could tell and I told her they said it was too early and she was acting like she was praying and laughing that it better be a boy. She thought it was very funny but I was about to cry.. I didnt tell her that the tech said she couldn't see anything between the legs and baby was moving so if she had to guess she would say girl but was entirely unsure. I left the appointment and cried in my car. I feel like I just want this baby to have never happened and try again. It is so terrible. I feel like I know it's a girl now and I will never have my ds. This is our last and my df doesn't seem to care either way but I feel like a let down. I want to secretly go have an early gender scan by myself and find out so I can grieve... I keep telling people it will be a girl so I wont be disappointed when I hear it... Sorry for the long rant....

 12 weeks is awfully early to tell the gender.  There are nub guesses but usually are only about 50% correct so I wouldn't take it too seriously at this point.  Other people's influence can make GD so much worse.  I am kind of in the same position, this is our last and I'm really hoping for a girl after two boys.  We have chosen not to find out the gender and I've gotten to the point where I"m okay with another boy but I'm afraid if it is another boy I will be disappointed afterall.

What I would do is not take anything seriously until your 20 week scan.  But booking a private gender scan is a good idea too, so you aren't in limbo.  GL, I hope you get your boy!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!  I too have 2 daughters and wanting a son so bad!  I am currently swaying now and TTC a boy in October/Nov.  I found this site when I was pregnant with DD2 and it was a big relief and really hard for me with accepting another girl but.... when she was born I loved her so much.  I think you should definitely get a private scan, it will definitely help.  I hope you hear blue though!  4

I feel a lot like you do right now. I'm 14 weeks now, have two boys, and I'm really nervous that they're going to tell me it's another boy. I'm trying to prepare myself for it because I feel like it's another boy. I also had the NT scan and the tech couldn't tell because the baby was sitting with it's legs crossed. She gave me print outs of the pictures and in one of the pictures it looks like she may have caught a picture of the nub...a boy nub. I've had a couple of people point it out in the pictures and say they think it's boy parts. So now I'm convinced it's a boy. I understand how you feel. I'm thinking that I will go with my hubby to find out the gender but if it's a boy, tell everyone they couldn't see what it was so that I won't have as many annoying comments. I hope you get your son but if not I hope you find peace. Take care.

3 under 4 hi i have 3 under 3. i just had my first son. i knew he was a girl. i did a girl lifestyle/sway. he was conceived 5 days before O. i was taking alot of cranberry for a uti and i was taking alot of sudifed for a head cold.12 weeks is very early to tell gender, you could always have a late riser. trust me mine is all boy but 5 daughters is just a wonderful.

I really appreciate everyone's responses on here, it is so nice to know that others know exactly how I feel! I posted an u/s pic for nub theorists (lol) and 4/4 were leaning to boy, so it gives me some hope! :) the tech at my u/s just said she couldn't see anything so she just said oh it might be a girl but couldn't give me a for sure answer. I know that if it is a girl, after its sunk in I will be very happy I just don't want to never experience both.. Anyway thank you everyone, throw blue dust at me! :)
