Thinking positive thoughts!!

Hi, Last year my baby was diagnosed with Triploidy at the 20 week scan- however I have a video of the 12 week scan (when the triploidy wasn't picked up). Now I'm not wanting to blame anyone for not picking it up, but I'm now newly pregnant, and will be going for my 12 week scan in a couple of weeks, and of course I'm panicking and very worried about having something go wrong again. What I'm wanting is a sonographer in particular, to look at this video (particularly at 4:08 of the video), and I'm sure I can see little holes in the placenta- I'm just wanting to know if a sonographer can tell me whether they can pick up something wrong here? Mostly because I just want to know that when I go for this 12 week scan and if I"m told everything's ok, I need to be able to trust that, so any help anybody can offer, I would be so so grateful, and would ease my concerns greatly. Similarly, I almost hope someone can tell me they can spot something wrong in this scan, because it tells me that if something is wrong again, there's a chance they'll be able to pick it up at this 12 week scan, and we won't have to wait until the pregnancy progesses to find out something might be wrong. I'm not tech, I hope one will respond. I looked at your picture at 4:08 and compared it images of other ultrasounds and it looks typical to me. The only hole thing I see is to right of the uterus and I think that's your bladder, I see it in most of the other ultrasound images. Best of luck.

Thanks ladies for your input. I'm just a wreck lately, and while I know the "statistical" odds of back to back triploidy are extremely low (given no genetic factors etc), I'm still really nervous. I guess I also want to know from anybody in the "know", how common it is to pick up abnormalities that AREN'T downs syndrome, at the 12 weeks scan? Hi- well the weird thing is, the specialist said (at the time we found out about the triploidy), that the reason they didn't pick it up at the 12 week scan was because his brain/body wasn't developed enough. But then this time around, he's assured me that they would be able to pick something up if something was wrong..... A bit strange... And I think they should be able to pick it up, because I've been doing hours and hours of case study reading, and all the medical journals say that the "vast" proportion of ALL chromosomal abnormalities are detected at that 12 week scan.. At this point, because I haven't had a sonographer look at the video, I'm just going with basic measurements. This time around, baby is measuring at least 2 days ahead, which is a GREAT sign, my triploid baby measured about a day behind, which I know doesn't seem like much, but every day counts.. I'll keep everyone updated

 Joanna, maybe you can change the name of your subject to something like 'Coldwater, Techs Help - Baby Maybe with Triploidy Question'. That way maybe this post will pop out more to them...
