I only know for RMANY--there the embryologists at RMA take the sample off the embryo and send that piece to a place in NJ. I would guess it's the same for NYU and Cornell but I am just guessing for them!

Thanks. I'm not sure if it really makes a difference if a clinic has an in-house lab or not. They have pretty good stats on SART. If you don't mind my asking, which clinic did you go to? I see that they have one on LI. I will contact them via email to get more information.

I live in the city so I went to the one in Manhattan but I believe the one in Long Island has Dr. Ruman and Dr. Flisser as the doctors, who both also work in NYC. I have worked with both of them (had infertility treatments before IVF). Jane Ruman is great--Flisser is a great doctor but sometimes tells you more of the truth than you want. I need a doctor that is super optimistic (even if he shouldn't be) and Grunfeld and Ruman are more that type--Flisser is more like here is the complete story whether you want to hear it or not. Just a different type of doctor but I know a bunch of people who really like him and that type of doctor. Hope that helps!

I have contacted them via email and they mentioned to consult with a Dr. Copperman. Have you heard of him? Not sure which office he is in. He is probably in the NYC office. I would go to NYC...not a problem. I agree with you about going to an optimistic doctor but I also don't want false hope. I am glad you had a good experience with them. When do you plan on using them again?

hey! Cooperman and Grunfeld run the team. I have heard great things about cooperman but actually never met him. You can also ask via email for a consult with Dr Grunfeld. I know they all do it, just not sure if another doctor would be as encouraging and okay with gender selection (I have absolutely no idea this is just a guess). They probably will let you get monitored at long island and only make you come to the city for the retrieval and transfer--that's my guess. I believe Cooperman is NYC. Grunfeld won't give you false hope--he told me I didn't have that much chance with IUIs but told me to still be optimistic because you never know. The whole IVF process he was very optimistic. He told me three days before I tested that my frozen embryo will only be used for my second child because he is so optimistic this worked. That being said, people are also obsessed with Mukerjee and Sandler so you can also ask for them. I have met both and was equally as impressed with them as Grunfeld. I will go back in about a year--yikes! When are you planning on using them? If you ever have questions you don't want to ask on the forum feel free to email me at alreadyneedivf@gmail.com:) Glad to help if I can even if you don't go to RMA. Tons of my friends (unfortunately) have had fertility issues and I know a lot about the clinics in NY.

Hi Photo-Girl! I'm curious to see what you have found in your research for NYC clinics. I have chatted with a few women on this site and other sites and this is what I found. Dr. Braverman is a good doctor but his specialty is in immunology and helps women with recurrent miscarriages. However, they wouldn't choose him for GS because the labs he utilizes are not very reliable. A few women i have chatted with had no success with him. I haven't seen anything positive about Fertility Institutes. They are just great with marketing their clinics but do not have good success rates. The only clinic I find with consistent positive reviews is RMANY. I hear the doctors there are wonderful and many people have had good success, especially with Dr. Grunfeld. I haven't really heard anything about NYU or CHR. If anyone wants to chime in and give us some of their experiences with NY clinics, Please feel free!!

Actually, you know more than I do! I haven't been researching HT for a long time and I have sort of put the research on hold for now. We will welcome DS2 and a perhaps when he turns 1, we'll make a final decision about whether we want a 3rd child or not. If we do decide on a third though, it will be HT for sure (let's just say that 50-50 odds and LT swaying are not good enough for me anymore!). But thanks for the summarized info - I am definitely taking note of what you mention RMANY and Dr Grunfeld in particular. I will look into CHR too. I already had heard Fertility Institutes was more about $marketing$ than helping people, so they are out!

Hi Ladies, I'm very new to this forum but found you all after searching for a good clinic to do IVF with PGD in NYC. I am due with my third baby boy in early March 2013 (and am already experiencing some GD, unfortunately) but what I am holding onto is the fact that I may be able to go through with HT for a little girl in the future. I was originally thinking of a place in Latham, NY (called CNY Fertility) because it is near where my parents live so it would be much easier and affordable to do, but I have found that their statistics aren't that great. I know this thread had it's last post in May of this year, but I'm hoping someone can chime in if they're still around to chat! And wondering if any of you have had consultations with Dr. Grunfeld at RMANY? It seems like a great clinic, but I would really love to hear from personal experiences! Many thanks! B
