Has anyone had this? Does the ovary you ovulate from determine gender???

Hi girls,my name is Marcia and I am an ultrasound tech. Most of the time the corpus luteum will be there no matter which ovary or sex baby. Its actually the follicle where the egg rupture from. It produces mostly progesterone and a little estrogen to support the pregnancy. It is visable until about 16 weeks and regresses. Once that happens the placenta takes over and will start producing its own hormone.
Hope this help
Thanks Marcia. I don't remember ever being told about a cyst on my ovaries during my other pregnancies but the ultrasound tech happened to mention a cyst on my right ovary and I was just wondering what this meant.

Marcia,
Does the placenta take over in the area where the cyst was? LOL! I have no idea! Or could the placenta form on the left side?
