After 6 sons.....

This news made me sad only because Lucia was my girl name.  :(  So, I do have a sad face just cause it hurts to again think of my lost Lucia, though, anyone who has 6 in a row certainly deserves to enjoy their moment.

ETA: Oh I think I read that wrong. I thought you lost a dd. Glad you didn't but still sorry since you're sad because that was your girl name! I can totally understand that.

Thanks to those who believe my post wasn't to intentionally "stir" anything. I don't see how it could have been percieved that way anyway! I have seen many posts on celeb babies, this is definately not the first one.

 FTR I think it is great they had a daughter. I definately think they deserve it after 6 sons, but then again maybe neither of them had GD and would have not minded either gender.

People on this board need to stop hating on me because I don't want a son. It has NOTHING to do with your boys. It has everything to do with me and MY family and what I want from life. Stop taking it personally and you will actually realise I am not trying to step on anyones tooes!

I don't know anything about anyone's previous posts but I DO think it is silly to have a sad face on a post that says a person with 6 sons getting a dd is "getting it all" that is insulting to any of us who have had many of one gender over and over and over again and wants just one of the opposite gender. Seems alittle self indulgent and obsorbed. It is OK to feel that way, but have alittle "cooth" it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that emotion don't go hand in hand with the OP orginal post.

Again, it's all about perception. MANY of those who want girls notice the Jennifer Garners far more than the Gwen Stefanis. Many of those who want boys notice the Britney Spears far more than the Faith Hills. To tell someone that their perception is bad or silly is not what we are supposed to be about.  Thanks Alligus! The hypersensitivity on here is getting rediculous. Nothing in the post insulted anyone or boys. As I said already, I think its great they had a DD and I was actually hoping that they would!

But when I first read the post I thought that the OP was relating to the ex of Mel Gibson. I can't imagine what it feels like to have your husband cheat on you, get their mistress pregnant while you are at home raising 6 sons and one daughter and then to find out that the much younger woman is having a DD. I would be a little pissed  just because it seems like he got a reward for messing around. BUT that would be coming from the perspective of GD and perhaps the ex Mrs. Mel Gibson didn't/doesn't have GD. 6 boys and 1 girl could be her dream family! I really hope it is! If I had to have a dozen boys but knew my girl was in there somewhere I don't know that I'd complain...we can't really know until we are in that position.

And if they are Catholic's who don't believe in BCP then I highly doubt they agree with IVF let alone PGD.

omg... please. feels like being reprimanded in the playground after the kid who started a fight goes boo hooing to the teacher to get all the "meanies" in trouble.

There is support and then there is enabling. There is NOTHING supportive about encouraging a woman that her GD is healthy and "ok" when she looks at ANY family of 6 boys that gets a girl as something being "done" and "unfair" to her.

Support isn't always just patting a person on the back and allowing them to do and say things that make no sense. Support sometimes is asking WHY?? WHy do you feel this way and showing them that sometimes their view of things are so obstructed with their own sense of entitlement that they need to see through it CLEARLY and not clouded with their own wants.

THIS isn't being mean.

I ask anyone this. When you come to a place for support, when you are feeling down and KNOW that even you feel unreasonable to YOU, do you want everyone to agree with you ALL the time even when you know that you are being unreasonable in certain matters/?? Or do you want someone to say HEY I have btdt but guess what it really isn't as bad as you think and there is the other side.. that things will be clearer and better.. it isn't as dark as you feel RIGHT at this moment...

If you wallow in self pity becuase you aren't getting what you want, and you have others validating it... guess where you stay??? IN self pity, wallowing for what you don't have. That isn't support in any shape or form. Support is lifting you out of the pit. Not keeping you there feeling justified for staying in the dark.

It is SILLY to feel jealous and use a emotion that is sad for the ORGINAL post. be a friend and DON"T sugar coat it.(and honestly OP I don't know about any hostility towards you and so I speak this as someone who has btdt with gd and felt VERY entitled myself..
