I can't believe that January is just around the corner! I'm feeling a little shaky about our boy sway (the food), but I'm okay with it. I really just want to have a healthy baby. My LP defect has scared me beyond belief about having a m/c. I have a doc apt. tomorrow to discuss it and hopefully get a blood test scheduled. I think I may have hypothyroid, which could play a part in my LPD. So we'll see what doc has to say. I'll keep you guys posted!
I've been making a lot of dinners from the boy cookbook...and been surprised about how good they've been. It's all the snacks that aren't really boy friendly. I'll have like a handful of saltines with the boy soup -- but recently learned that regular salt is acidic. Oops. So my pH hasn't budged a single point. Bummed! I've been drinking 72oz of lemon water daily (2 tbs of lemon juice in Six 12oz glasses a day)...i can't really seem to get more in w/o being in the bathroom all night (and drinking so much water w/o much exercise scares me a little).
So....this cycle I'm hoping to get a better idea of what my CM is like around O time. Last cycle I don't think I had much of anything. Anyway, here's what I am doing:
Supps: fish oil, vit e, folic acid, zinc, b-12, b6 (b6 from O to AF in practice cycles, and O thru week 14-ish of pregnancy to help with my LP)
Breakfast: rice krispies with 3 tbs of skim milk + a banana every morning (ha...the milk is so little it's ridiculous)
Lunch: mostly left overs from dinners and turkey sandwiches (i hope turkey is okay...i know chicken is acidic)
Dinner: cooking from boy cookbook and trying to be creative with coming up with own meal ideas that involve approved boy ingredients
Snacks: This is where I fail. I'll have a granola bar (not an approved kind...only b/c they're cheaper) and not even think about it much...or some saltines with soup. However, I have been making tomato soup bars, jello, and lemon/bannana smoothies as snacks too. We have peanuts in the house right now (testosterone diet)...and may keep buying that for me. And of course apples and oranges -- but i get sick of eating the same fruits (luckily the banana/lemon smoothie helps with the banana intake w/o really eating them solid twice a day or more). I think my DH doesn't really care about what he has for snacks, so he's not quite as strict as I am (and I know I'm not following it perfectly!)
In a few weeks (when we get to the 6 week mark) I'll be buying V8 V-fusion passionfruit tangerine for our 3 glasses of fruit juice and to hike up our potassium intake. Again, i haven't done this yet because it's kind of expensive. I have bought the V8 Splash to try to help with EWCM, but it hasn't helped me much at all. I've found that there is sooo much liquid on this diet that I can't seem to get it all in.
Some miscellaneous stuff: DH switched from boxer briefs to boxers. We aren't using any aerosols anymore. I just started taking sea salt baths (more to just help calm my nerves down about swaying). DH plans to do ice 'jewels' 20 min. or so before attempt and drink a cup of coffee 30 min or so before attempt. We'll do doggy for our attempt. I've been slacking on the weight lifting, but will get more serious about it closer to my 6 wk mark. I'll be doing BSF twice daily for the week before and on attempt day about an hour before (It goes up from like a 4 or 5 to a 9).
I still feel like it's a crappy sway though. It seems like everyone does TBM....but like I said, I'd prefer a boy but I'd be really happy about a girl too. So it's not a huge deal for me anymore. Still hoping for a boy though! :)
I know there are a few others that are trying in January. How are you ladies doing with your plan? Care to share? Good luck and keep me updated :).
