Don't want to get my hopes up...

But I "applied" to 2 situations for out of state adoptions and we got EM from both of the CW's saying we are being considered (for both)! One is a sibling pair of 2, bi racial 10 yr old boy 6 yr old girl. These are PERFECT ages to add to our family!! They are beautiful and it looks like the only issue is the boy has ADHD.
The other situation is a sibling set of 3. Boy who is 8, Girl who just turned 6 and another girl who is 3 (same birthday as my daughter!!). They are of Hispanic decent and speak primarily spanish. Absolutely stunning. This would also be perfect for us. 1 child more than I was going for, but to hell with it, the more the merrier! The older 2 of the set of 3 have alot of grief and abandonment issues, so it would take alot of work and love, but I know we can do it.
My HS agency has sent our homestudies with a very encouraging note about our family. I am excited but cautious as large families are usually looked down on, so they could easily say "thanks but no thanks" but honestly, this is farther than we have gotten with any inquiries so far!
Can I ask for prayers that one of these situations work out and if they don't, that we find our child/ren out there soon :)

WoooHooo praying for you. What will you do if you get approved for both set of siblings? I mean, how can they resist you and your wonderful family?

I would be SHOCKED if they approve for both... It is highly unlikely anyway, so I am not even thinking that way. I could not choose which set of siblings we would take! I need God to send me my children, he knows best (passing the buck! LOL). :) I do figure the SW will read our HS and let us know if we are a good family for either one. I pray all the time that they see past the large family stigma...
Our HS agency, who know us so well, always advocate for us, as they think we are a good family. But if you look at the info quickly, it is easy for them to think that a small family is better, which in some cases, it defintiely IS. However, we have so much parenting experience, we have GREAT kids that can help with transition for other kids, we have the room and I have experience (unfortunately) with grief and anadonment from my own adoption.
Thank you so much for your prayers and good wishes. I would be so humbled to be chosen for these children!

Thinking good thoughts for you for sure!! Hoping to get a HS, SW, and agency who will do the same for us.....know that we'll be awesome and do everything & anythig for us! And I entirely have the same fears....we already have 3 boys, who will think we're the "ideal" ones for a daughter? But we will be, and I just have to count on others really knowing & understanding that.

I'll be praying for whatever is meant to be to happen, so the hard decisions will be made for you.

mom.mama.mommy:
Hoping to get a HS, SW, and agency who will do the same for us.....know that we'll be awesome and do everything & anythig for us!
The best advice I can give...shop around for a good HS agency/SW!! Our first one SUCKED!! We should have never gone with them, the SW was very clear about the fact that she thought we were crazy for wanting more children. She said it in front of us and kept referencing to the fact that 6 was a big family and why would we want more....We ended up losing 3 months and $1300 when we fired her!
Then I called a few HS agencies around here and asked "how do you feel about large families". It turned out our SW in this agency had 3 kids, but wanted 6. She was an adoptive momma herself and was very supportive. Bang, our relationship formed. :)
So, as important as a good placing agency is, the HS agency is JUST AS important!!
