Ladybugs Good Luck

There is a story that back in 1996 referrals for adoption out of China really started to slow down.  Many adopting parents were venting their feelings in chat rooms around the world.  A huge rush of referrals followed the slow down.  Many of these parents went back to the chat rooms and reported seeing many Ladybugs just before their referral call.  Now Ladybugs are a symbol in adoption and even more so for adoption from China. 

My ds #1 just pointed out to me that we had a ton of Ladybugs crawling all over our front window.  When I got there I only saw three, but he said there were more.  Could be the toddler lil bro sitting next to him and banging on the window scared them away. 

Could this by my sign?  Since I saw three I am saying to myself ok only three more months even though we are past due to get our referral.  I can do three more months but that will be about it.  If our call comes sooner, then thank you God and thank you Ladybugs.

Either way it was fun to see and know that there is just a little hope my phone will ring soon telling me that we have a dd.

This is only month 2 of our wait after the dossier was submitted and I'm already going stir crazy!!  I was initially told little boys were 'in abundance' in Russia but have a feeling the wait is going to be longer than originally anticipated.  

Several on this board have been waiting well over a year for a referral..I don't know how you find the patience!

Fratmom, how beautiful!! You said you saw 'three' ladybugs and my first thoughts were 'three' children! So three ladybugs are a perfect  I hope you get your phone call soon!

Just think one day you can tell your dd the beautiful ladybug story!  I'm praying that you get your referral call soon. 

I came to love lady bugs when I was adopting. I saw them everywhere and truly believe they are good luck. Even my mom bought me a ladybug bank for Abby before she was even born LOL

I hope your ladybug sighting brings that referral phone call very soon! I know how this waiting can feel like it is slowly killing you. 

We are "next" on the list for a referral in our region in Russia, but "next" could mean sooner or later.....we'll see.  I've given up having our DD home by the end of the year, so now I am just focusing on enjoying the holidays with our boys starting with Halloween in 2 weeks--hopefully it will help the time pass by.

Chooks love the three ladybugs three kids!

 I just have a feeling we are going to get some IG referrals very soon!! How exciting! I SO SO SO wish I was with you. But the really neat thing is I can honestly say I am majorly excited for ya'll without even a teensy bit of jealousy! So I am making progress anyway. Now I just have to stop keeping track in my head of where we would be right now if the adoption had gone through (we would be waiting for a referral from Korea too!) Oh well I will live vicariously through my IG friends!
